Kitros
As my 2004 journey to Greece was rather private than touristic, I like
to start with a picture of our house in Kitros. |

Tempi
The Tempi valley between the Olympus and Ossa ranges has already been
mentioned in the greek mythology. Today it is still an oasis of silence
and of always cool and fresh air, even in summer - regardless the fact
that the whole traffic between Salonica and Athens squeezes itself though
this narrow valley. |

|
Olympus - Vithos canyon
The path on the concrete water pipeline allows you to explore the beautiful
nature at Mount Olympus without the need for hiking boots. |
|
|
Meteora
It is always breathtaking to see the landscape of Metero with its rock
fingers. Like small bird nests on the top of these fingers you can find
the "levetating monastries". |
|
|
Veria
The city of Veria is full of small churches and from a terrace you have
good a magnificient view over the deltas of several rivers towards the
sea. |
|
|
Alikes Kitros Lagoon
So many years I am coming to Kitros but nobody ever told me that in the
nearby salt marches there is a bird sanctury being a habitat to many birds
and even wild Flamingoes. I had to learn it from the Internet. |

|
City park Katerini
The local main town Katerini hasn't much to offer to tourists but there
always was a nice park which is full of flowers and was even made more
beautiful recently. |
|
|
Salonica
Salonica - for a very long time this has only been a desert of concrete
for me. Only with my journey in 2003 this has changed. Please find here
the typical picture postcard motive: the view from the white tower along
the promedade. |
|
|
Salonica
Life is pulsing in the streets of Salonica. At every corner someting interesting
can be observed. Here a greek pope is negotiating the price of cherries
with the young seller. |
|
|
Korinos
These sunny umbrellas in front of clear blue sky can be found at the beach
of the village of Korinos. Sun, sandy beaches and a blue sea - all a tourists'
heart might desire.. |
