California: San Francisco, Lombard Street Located in the noble quarter Russion Hills, the Lombard Street is called the crookedest steet of the world. Until 1927 with its 27° slope this street was one of the steepest streets in San Francisco. Then eight sharp turns were created to make the passage easier.
